IT'S SPRING AT WINDY HILL!

How can you tell?
Well....
It's Show Season
We sheared everybody on April 1 & 2
The hills around us are green
The ranch needs mowing
It’s Easter
And…..it’s almost time for crias to be born!

Spring is a very exciting time.

Furthermore, we have a new way for you to enjoy alpacas: The Windy Hill Alpaca Club.
The Alpaca Club is for anyone who would like to spend more time around alpacas— volunteering, visiting, learning, or just chilling out.
For a recurring $50 membership fee, you and your family can come out to Windy Hill on Club Days each month and get to know alpacas better.
We offer special events, and every month there will be a class on Alpaca Care or Fiber Arts that is free for all members (materials are available for sale).
So if you love alpacas, join the Windy Hill Alpaca Club and come on out.

People are making their alpaca dreams come true by starting THEIR ranch on OUR ranch and then moving to their OWN ranches. Outrigger, Casey and Barnyard Blitz are going to Camp Kinneret in Agoura Hills this spring. Everyone is very excited about them joining the camp family.

On our latest show trip to Missouri we delivered 4 alpacas to Maria Chieruzzi and her family. They started by boarding their alpacas at Windy Hil to learn about alpaca farming, and now have them at their very own alpaca farm. They were all so excited— people and alpacas— when they arrived!

Windy Hill hosts the 4H Alpaca Project in Ventura County. 4H-ers learn handling skills, fiber arts, husbandry, anatomy, and showmanship at our monthly meetings. In March, 2 4H-ers, Brenna and Sophia, brought their parents to the show and helped show the alpacas. It was great fun, they got to learn what it takes to show successfully, and the alpacas did great too!

Several of our boarders and 4H friends came to help at shearing. It was 2 days of fast action and beautiful fleeces. With the skills of Bio-Secure Alpaca Shearing, we were able to shear 195 alpacas in 2 days! If there is anyone out there who would like to purchase fleeces, we have them for sale. Just contact us at [email protected] and we’ll set up an appointment for you to come choose your fleece.

To wind down after a busy day I get out my sketch pad and doodle. I thought I'd share these funny alpaca faces with you.. As a Club member you can come out and learn to doodle alpacas while you relax.

Please feel free to email or call us with any questions you might have about Club membership, 4H, alpaca ownership, or a business consult. We would love to hear from you.
