What do you get when you pair Admiral's Commandor from Wings & A Prayer's awesome breeding program with a color championship banner winner named Martha? You get a dynamite white male who may have outdone both and is a half brother to Northstar! His 2022 EPDs are in the Top 5% for three categories and top 10% for AFD of 19.5 microns.
We are so happy that we have partnered with Cindy Harris of Alpacas of Windy Hill on this young man! Thank you for your faith in our breeding program, Cindy!
In 2022, he was shown at AOA, CABA, GWAS and several other regional shows bringing home a lot of blue and 3 banners. He was also one-half of the team that earned his dam a 2nd at AOA and a 1st at CABA for Produce of Dam!
Michael showed at both halter and walking fleece in 2021 as a never shorn yearling and placed 2nd twice and third three times; we are very pleased with that showing in very competitive classes including the big gun shows of AOA National, Futurity, GWAS, and Rocky Mountain Alpaca Showdown.
His current fleece is even better at 34 months, before retiring to his well-deserved breeding career! He settled his first females while standing stud at Alpacas at Windy Hill and all his 2023 progeny have arrived! Cindy says look for them in the show ring in 2024!
A MOMENT FOR WHITE SURI: Let me take just a minute to give a pitch for white suri fleece. Because of its high luster and silky fineness, I believe white suri is the basis for improving and pumping up any suri breeding program. Because Suris represent such a small % of the national herd, white has a unique place in expanding the reach of suri in a practical, someday commercial industry. Don't get me wrong--- I love the other natural colors! Suri luster makes them all stand out in a way that is breath-taking. But I also believe that white suri is the standard by which all suri is measured. Come take a look!
