AWH Yukon's Haleakala has a powerhouse pedigree-- Pperuvian Bruxo, DDF Peruvian MacGyver, Sierra Bonita's Peruvian Maccoyo Maximum, Pucara Kahuna, LFA Accoyo Belmonte--Generations of color, lock, luster, fineness and density!
His mother, Flicka, was my first champion alpaca, and is still one of my favorites, although retired now. Both she and his dad, OTN Peruvian Yukon, passed along their beautiful temperaments as well as all his sterling other traits.
Haleakala has the heaviest fleece on the property every year. I will be getting a skin biopsy done this year, and I expect it to be a high number. His beige fleece glows, even when it's dirty. His lock style is consistent front to back and many layers deep. I've had his fleece spun and it is by far the sweetest suri yarn I've ever handled.
But his best trait of all is how he passes those traits along to his offspring with an extra bump up! This is his first groups of crias, and they will be the mainstay of my show string this spring. I can't wait to see how they do!
I believe that Haleakala can improve almost anybody. He is line-bred on MacGyver at the Grandfather/Great-Grandfather level-- a very solid outcome should happen each time.
We have lots of his genetics in our herd and it is now time to let someone share in what he can do for their herd. We are offering a 50% ownership of Haleakala. Don't miss out!
