These girls have put in their time in my breeding program and are ready to "retire". All they want is a safe, comfy place to live, treats from your hand, and they may even want a little petting. In short, they are ready for the life they always knew they deserved: treated like a Queen, no males to bother them, and no babies to raise.
Older open females can be some of the best alpaca "pets" there are. Their hormones continue to tell them they want a relationship, but they are no longer picky about who that is. Some of them will lie down for a massage, most of them like to go for walks on a halter, some like to just hang out and look sweet.
