GLR Suton was a male I loved from the beginning. His parentage is a blend of Great Lakes and Windy Hill genetics, and his fleece is just amazing!
He had a bit of a rough start, being a slow starter, so we never got to show him. In his first show when still owned by Halo Ranch, he placed 4th is a VERY competitive class, and he was the smallest in the class. We bought him and brought him home after that, and how he is a big, strong framed, heavy-fleeced boy. We will see his first crias now any day.
Suton has the stance and attitude of his sire, Cinders. Cinders has produced winner after winner for Great Lakes and now Halo Ranch. Cinders is the 2016 and 2017 AAA Futurity Dark Herd Sire of the Year and the 2018 Reserve Dark Herd Sire of the Year! He is also a 3 time Herd Sire of the Year for the Medium Breeder Division!
Suton's mama is AWH Runaround Sue. Sue had two 1st's, a Reserve Champion, and a 2nd at Nationals in a very competitive class in 2012. Great Lakes purchased her from us at the show and she went on to make some really terrific babies for them and for Halo. When I saw Suton, I knew I had to have this male!
His grandfather (Sue's daddy) is AWH Boreas, now owned by Cielto Lindo Alpacas. Boreas was the product of Sirius Black and PLA Bailey. He showed 8 times in his juvenile year and received 8 firsts, 6 championships and 1 Reserve Championship. It was a very exciting year!
Suton's Studbook is open right now, so I would encourage you to come see him and consider him for your female. We have also decided to offer our share in him for sale as we are concentrating on light-colored suris now. This is a real opportunity to acquire a very promising true black herdsire.
