Friendly Farm Alpacas~ Read Our Opinion

I've been raising suri and huacaya alpacas for eight years and have been attending several shows each year. My breeding program has steadily improved and my alpacas have done pretty well in the show ring. They have always been "in pasture condition" and have been dusty or with hay woven deeply through their fleece. Rinsing my suris before a show has only made the dust sink deeper in and has not been something I felt comfortable doing. I have wondered how I could change things at home to keep my animals out of the dirt but have not come up with anything yet. Keeping the playing field fair and ethical has made my experience a good one. I think continuing this is an improtant thing and am so happy to see a group pull together to keep it fair.

Thanks, Kathleen Friend
