Ming is an amazing girl. She is boldly built, incredibly shiny, and relocks every year. She has both Accoyo Ace and Accoyo Baron in her own pedigree, and turns out beautiful crias year after year. This year's cria, by NGG Accoyo Apache II, is the most amazing warm beige color. He's almost pink! He has dense coverage, high luster, well-defined lock, and sturdy male conformation. He should show extremely well, and we're betting he'll go on to make a wonderful herdsire.
Ming is right in the prime of her life at 7 years old. She is an excellent mother, birthing and breeding easily, and providing a watchful eye as well as lots of good milk for her babies. We would keep her, but we have 2 of her beautiful daughters now, so it's time to share her with someone new.
We have bred her this year to Pperuvian Accoyo Torbio, the Elder Stateman of our herdsire lineup. Torbio is 19 years old this year and still siring champions! If longevity is a trait we are concerned about in our American herd, then Torbio's bloodline should be one of the most sought-after lines in the country. In fact, we asked Torbio how old her wanted to get to be. He told us, "20. Not too many alpacas die after 20." (What a guy!)
