Her fleece is a deep redwood color dotted with light silver gray in honor of her sire, Silver Shadow. She has all the markings of a classic gray, but when she is shorn you can see the little silver dollar-sized polka dots in her blanket.
Her sire, Silver Shadow, has produced more than 50% gray in his career--and astounding record. Katarina's dam, Nadia La Boliviana, has produced rose gray 3 times when mated to Silver Shadow! Her vicuna coloring lends itself beautifully to gray.
Katarina is getting close to breeding age. As soon as she is ready, we will breed her to Silvano of PVA for you. Silvano has a show record that won't quit--take a look at his page! Since Katarina is already rose gray, a breeding to this outstanding silver male from Park View Alpacas is very likely to produce gray. In fact, we're counting on it!
