Dandelion is a handsome female who started out her life as a darling little fluffball. She was the friendliest cria in the pasture, the one who was first to the fence for kisses. And she has maintained her wonderful temperament as she has grown up.
Dandelion has LOTS of color in her background! Via Caligula's Diane was a fawn and white appaloosa female with extremely soft fleece. PpAlfredo's Espresso is a jet black male with remarkably fine fleece for a black. His outstanding conformation and stature account in a large degree for Dandelion's sturdy frame and square stance. She has tremendous capacity in her frame for carrying crias and breeding for a long time.
Dandelion's original owners were in no hurry to breed her, so she is just now pregnant for the first time. Unlike so many females, Dandelion is still friendly and happy to have visitors in her pasture. She will eat out of your hand and even welcome a pat on the back.
Dandie is bred to Maximillion of PVA, son of The Elite Maximus who recently sold for $120,000! Max (or Sugar Smax, as the girls in the pasture call him...) is white with an extremely soft handle and consistent crimp across his blanket, producing 5 lb of blanket fleece each year. He really packs on the density and fineness. And thanks to the brown spot on his side, Max also throws lots of color from colored females.
If you are starting out with alpacas, Dandelion has all the qualifications you are looking for! She should produce well for years, and be a fun companion as well. My guess is that her crias will continue her friendly tradition, making her a great family foundation female. She comes with a free rebreeding after this cria is delivered next June.
