Type: SURI
DOB: 7/5/2007
ARI#: 31065269
Color: True Black
Heritage: Peruvian/Bolivian
Status: PROVEN- 1st crias due in June
Dam: PLA Bailey

PLA Bailey is a Champion in her own right. She was a replacement in the 2002 AOBA Auction offered by Prairie Lakes Alpacas, and we saw her value immediately. Even now at 7 years old, Bailey's fleece glows with bright luster and her locks twist to the skin. When we decided to send her to Sirius Black, we anticipated something great, and we weren't disappointed at all when the cria was a male!
Sire: Sierra Bonita's Sirius Black

Says Leslie Loveless:
"Sierra Bonita’s Sirius Black is the full Peruvian Macgyver son who has a place of honor in our herd, number one next to his Sire. He is the most incredible black suri I have seen. True black, dense, lustrous, with locks completely independent at the skin. As a Juvenile, he won 1st and champion at the level 5 Great Western alpaca Show in Denver. 1st place at the Futurity, and 1st and reserve champion at AOBA National Conference. Feb. 2006 he won 1st place and Color Champion in Fort Worth Texas. He won 1st at the IAO in CA and on April 1st, won 1st and Color Champion in Puyallup WA. He won 1st and Reserve-Color Champion at the Futurity, 1st and Color Champion at MAPACA and 1st and Color Champion at PAOBA. Sirius finished his show season by winning 1st and National Black Color Champion in Kentucky at the AOBA National Conference. His Dam, Peruvian Starlette, has produced only champion offspring including Sirius’s full siblings, Celestina, Synergy, and Macgyverson. His sire, Macgyver has won “Herd Sire Of The Year” 5 years in a row."

Description:
There are Rites of Passage in every walk of life, and we celebrated one last year when we took the first male that we bred out to win 7 championships.
We decided to send PLA Bailey to Sirius Black in 2005. Bailey, herself a champion, produces crias with outstanding conformation and high luster, and we wanted one in black. She and Sirius Black came through for us with the most amazing-looking cria we had ever seen. We were ecstatic that it was a male!
AWH Boreas--Greek god of the North Wind--was special from the day he hit the ground. Even as a little tiny guy he had the stance and presence of a herdsire. I kept rubbing my eyes, wondering if I was seeing what I thought I was seeing.
Now we are waiting for his first crias in June 2010. This promises to be an exciting summer. Stop by and see his crias, then make a breeding reservation for your girls!
